If you encounter an expression error like this, it may be due to following reasons:
- Your project is running an old expression engine (more info below)
- Your After Effects language is not English and we need to fix a specific product (more info below)
1. Old Expression Engine
Older After Effects versions used a slightly different standard for expressions. To fix this do the following:
- Switch Javascript Engine to "Javascript" like this:
- Backup your project. Then open Animation Composer hamburger menu and chose from "Update Expressions" options.
2. After Effects Language
If you're working a different language than English, it may happen that the expressions are not translated properly. We've issued a few updates addressing this issue before, so please check "Manage Products" dialog for new updates of the products you are using.
If you're on a latest version and the expression error is still present, please let us know.
Once an expression error is present in a project, you have to remove & replace the item to get rid of it.
